It was the best of times, it was the end of times (Part 2 of 2)

Continued from Part 1

SIGNS AND MORE SIGNS

I’m not terribly familiar with Revelations, the New Testament prophecy for the end times, but quite a number of people I know are.  More than a few blogposts online have discussed multiple events through the lens of the "end times".  One of the warning signs that I do recall are that the plagues of Egypt would re-occur.

Locusts?  Sure enough.  In India, Pakistan, in Africa… possibly coming to China.

Across the world, rivers are – at least visually – turning to blood.

[Water Turns Blood Red In Kazakhstan & Billions Of Locusts Spreading As Biblical Plagues Continue! / 3:03]

And while a red river in Canada seems to have been caused by – literally – spilled red ink, and a few years ago a Brazilian river turned red from actual spilled blood, both mundane and earthly-caused events, they are disturbing.

I’m not going to do an exhaustive search for every single vial or seal discussed in that prophecy.  But I find it very… coincidental that I found this video in such a timely manner.  Literally, having just posted the first part, and planning to post this part in another day or so.

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES

In the opening to the movie trilogy Lord of the Rings we hear a voice – Lady Galadriel as it turns out:

The world has changed
I feel it in the water
I feel it in the earth
I smell it in the air
Much that once was is lost…

I fear those words are grim heralds for today.

The reaction to the tragic death of George Floyd – possibly homicide by a police officer who apparently knew him previously with reports they butted heads; though the initial autopsy does not indicate suffocation, and another report (same link) states he was having difficulty breaking while still standing up – has unleashed chaos in multiple cities.  And let me be crystal clear: are there instances of police brutality that need to be addressed?  Unquestionably – yes.  No human institution is perfect, but consider what police have to deal with.  Go see the two videos here; and note the accuracy, the gut-level pit-of-your-stomach truth of the quote:

The campfire is dying. The wolves are closing in.

The shooting of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta, to my opinion completely justified based on what I’ve seen, has redoubled things.  And decades of Critical Theory indoctrination and controlling education have resulted in entire generations seething at the nation they live in.

[Bill Whittle on The Narrative: The origins of Political Correctness / 13:07]

Our past, whether good or ill, is being systematically attacked; Leftists are now discussing smashing stained glass windows and attacking “white Jesus”.  People are being OTHERED and dehumanized with my own regretful note that similar things happen before actual genocides (link repeated from the intro).  In several locations the police and military, the sheepdogs to whom we have ceded authority to use force, are nowhere to be found and sometimes by mayoral command.  This does not bode well; Slip The Leash:

The more times it happens the less likely the people who're vested in the ownership of the nation are going to follow the rules and call the cops.
We're skidding hard for the moment when the rioters are not threatened with guns, but are fired upon without regard.
The only thing keeping those safeties on is the surety that they will be arrested for murder of the rioters.
The moment approaches where the people with the guns defending their property from rioters decide that anyone not helping them is also a foe.  Police that come to arrest them for defending themselves from rioters will also receive a fusillade.
It will be tragic, it will be bad, but it will not be unjust.
In too many places the cops have ceased to be what the citizens think cops should be, and for too long.
We used to have a social fabric, flawed as all human institutions are, wherein at least we functioned and knew what to expect.  That illusion was already under attack from the Socialist Left, filled with Marxianic Zeal, since at least the progressive Woodrow Wilson.

The progressives were friendly with, and exchanged ideas with, the rising Nazis of Germany.

And like the Nazis, and others, they’re purging history.  General Grant, the man who led the Union armies to end slavery; George Washington, one of the absolute greatest of us, is also under attack.  Anything related to Europe, Christianity, or white people is under attack – anything:

De Blasio Announces NY Commission to “Reevaluate Historical Narratives” and Look at Removing Thomas Jefferson Statue in City Hall

Orwell’s 1984, and in parallel Huxley’s Brave New World, were written as warnings – and the Left is using them as manuals.

In other words, what was… is lost.  More precisely, cast aside, with those who we expect to defend them are not acting.

ECHOES OF THE FUTURE?

In the sci-fi book Childhood’s End, author Arthur C. Clarke envisioned an alien race – the Overlords – that came to help humanity evolve to the next level.  One of the things about them is their appearance: bipeds with cloven hooves, horns, etc.  I.e., classical demons.  Their appearance in earthly Christian religion is explained as follows (italics in original, clarifying information added in []):

[One of the Overlords] Rashaverak explains that the primal fear experienced by humans was not due to a racial memory, but a racial premonition of the Overlords' role in their metamorphosis.
Time, to my occasionally-paying-attention-to-physics awareness, is still mysterious.  Could there be, in fact, be echoes of the future in the prophecies of the past?  Or, truly, a divine hand in things?

Above my pay grade.

Still…

PRESCIENT POEM

I was talking with a friend the other day and mentioned this poem.  He agreed; we are there.  We have children who hate their raaaaaacist parents thanks to the schools (aside: another sign, told to me by the author of this series about the Left being a cult) – never mind the tearing down of statues and attacks on stores and people who step even an attometer out of line of the rising paradigm.  We have half the country (the Left) hating the other half (the Right) – with that other half starting to hate them back.  We have families and friendships being sundered; The Shunning.  We have people on the Left who literally call people on the Right not human; Unhinged Liberal Says Conservatives Aren’t Human Beings, Should Only Be Allowed Menial Labor (bolding added)

On Monday, Palmer informed his 330,000 Twitter followers that conservatives cannot be teachers, police officers, doctors, lawyers, coaches or hold any position of management or leadership.  In fact, Palmer doesn’t even think conservatives are human beings and should only be allowed menial labor jobs until he determines they are ready to join the human race.
We have, at least on the face of it, a desire to mark everyone with a unique ID.  And given the Wuhan Flu situation, we have a desire to “mark” everyone so they can go outside.  We have masking, which hides the human face and further dehumanizes people – for we are hard-wired to recognize and react to faces.  We have the Chinese “social credit score” which “marks” people to be able to buy, sell, and travel – with the big tech companies doing so eagerly.  You don’t have to be a raving paranoid to look at this and speculate where this is going: total authority, total control, forcing total obedience.  And while this warning from an Israeli paper holds a glimmer of hope for America if people “wake up”, Western civilization is moving closer to the cliff, is there hope?; I want to believe YES, but I fear NO.

Perhaps the summer of love that we are now beginning to experience will show itself to be the shape of totalitarian things to come, and will serve as an inoculation against going down a very dangerous path. If not, however, the prospects for the center holding are increasingly remote.
I fear for America, as America’s loss of vision, commitment and sense of what made it America, will be a disaster for the entire Western world.
Understanding that frightening possibility might be the only thing that allows us to back away from the cliff.
Worldwide, I won’t go into it too much, but it’s clear – as I’ve observed in the past – that the world is littered with interconnected piles of dry tinder.  All around the world, people are playing with matches, e.g., 20 Indian soldiers killed during border clash with China:

Indian and Chinese troops battled each other with iron rods and stones at their disputed border, leaving 20 Indian soldiers dead as tensions escalate between the two nuclear powers.
More on the China-India situation.  In general, China seems to be “warming things up” in multiple places and there may be good reason China’s getting frisky: 11 Reasons Why China’s Economy is Failing and in Terrible Shape – NEVER Trust Data Coming Out of China!  Related, how’s Russia’s economy?

Iran is getting more aggressive, and not just towards Israel.  Russia seems to be poking America with plane ingressions more often.  Africa and the Middle East are, literally, invading Europe and starting to swamp it demographically with the latter’s leadership’s apparent willing cooperation (and the same going on in the US with illegal immigration); Big Conspiracy: Electing a New Population.  And on, and on, and on.

What THE SPARK will be, I don’t know.  But even absent a supernatural conflict, it’s clear that the instability is growing globally.  And when one lights off, I suspect they all will.

[Red October "This business will get out of control..." / 0:32]

END GAME?

What is coming?  Are these truly the “end times” as prophesied?  I don’t know.  (I say that a lot here.)

But I fear in the pit of my stomach that it’s going to get ugly.  The strobe light that Bill Whittle discussed in this fantastic, albeit long, speech is charging up to flash.

[Bill Whittle The Assault On Civilizational Structures / 1:44:41]

Look to your families.  Look to your friends, your neighbors, and your community.  I’ve spoken with one neighbor and he seems like he’s got some of the right perspective.  I need to broach things more broadly.  I need to speak with some other neighbors.  Other people in the area, too – people skilled with weapons, with experience in countries that have collapsed (e.g., a fellow congregant from the former USSR – my wife, too, though she is staggeringly naïve and not seeing what I’m seeing)…

[Why It's Time to Let the West FALL / 14:37]

Vote RED like your life depends on it, because it does.  Pray that Trump wins, that we retake the House and keep the Senate.  Pray that efforts in Canada, for example, succeed similarly.  Not, as I said in a prior post, that it will save us – but simply because it will buy us more time to prepare.

There’s no stoppin’ what can’t be stopped.

-- King Willie, Predator 2

I fear nothing can be done to stop it, but knowing it’s coming, plans can be made to survive it.  Let’s preserve what is worth preserving, and let the rest fall, even as we plan to rebuild.

And that rebuilding after the apocalypse, too, is a part of many myths, stories, and prophecies.  E.g., Ragnarok… and after Ragnarok:

In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is a series of future events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors.
Just as new civilizations have arisen in the past after the collapse of the old.

  1. " Western civilization is moving closer to the cliff, is there hope?; I want to believe YES, but I fear NO."

My fear also. But there is the hope of Jesus' return.
We watch Hunt for Red October every few months.
    Great post.

    1. Thank you.

Jesus who? :D (Snide poke from your friendly neighborhood stiff-necked person.)

  2. There's plenty of end time prophecy I the old Testament too. It doesn't really matter how close the end is. The part that matters is "am I ready?"
My only fear in life is not being able to protect and provide for my wife. The rest is in His hands.

    1. My wife and kids.

My kids are not old enough to fend for themselves. My wife is - sad to say - IMHO incapable of doing so and handling kids.
