Random Thoughts: September 21, 2020
Note: These “Random Thoughts” have replaced my linkfests. I like the format – I expound more on a few topics rather than “quick hitting” when there are so many places to get lots of info like that, e.g., my I READ… list on the left. Many of these places are where I get my info from anyway. Please click through from here so they see traffic coming from me.
Also, these grow over several days. For expediency and length I will skip over being “just” an information aggregation, but I pick and choose things that strike me, especially when I think I can add some value with commentary.
Text in yellow means a link to a purchase that supports me.
Text in cyan means a link to another post of mine.
Text in magenta means a link to an organization worthy of financial support / subscription
Lead-in clickbait image from my latest Rule Five post, specifically done to get traffic:
Yes, I know it’s clickbait. Deal with that. Give me a better way to get eyeballs short of my giving away money, I’ll do that instead. And please share this post, and subscribe to my blog!
And please do check out my last five non-Rule Five posts (any multi-part posts count as one; quickie-posts put together and counted as one):
Three blast-from-the-past posts – picked at my whim:
Don’t forget my CARTOONS. Here’s a sample:
If you’re a blogger and like any of these cartoons I’d greatly appreciate your using them. All I ask for is:
1. No alterations to the image or notice on it
2. Give me credit for it
3. Give a linkback to my blog
Please remember: I pay $150 for each cartoon. To snip the image without at least maintaining the notice I attach to them is theft.
And I greatly like Bill Whittle – see my Wednesday Whittle feature.
Amazon – Everything under the sun
Built Bar – Protein / nutrition bars
Pictures on Gold – Laser-engraved jewelry images
Wicked Temptations – Lingerie and other “unmentionables”
A Foreign Affair – How I met my wife
The only real objection I’d have to this would be a lack of access to Pacific shipping. We’d have to have that come through the new nation of Western Canada. 😊
If you have a big enough area of property, the three S’s should have applied.
With that dearth of data from even a century ago, and error bars that are multiple degrees in magnitude, they can still look at us and say they can state with confidence that they know the earth is warming. Uh huh. Related:
As someone who makes a living in a STEM field, I find the rape of the scientific method horrific. ANY THEORY must provide means to test, and falsify, itself. If it does not, it is not a theory in SCIENCE.

I have high blood pressure – a legacy of my mother’s genetics. Her mother also had it. My wife has low blood pressure, so I’m hoping the kids kind of average out. Regardless, at one point I was taking a generic medication that gave me a constant, annoying dry cough. Complaining to my doctor, he switched me to a premium medication that avoided that issue. But it was a lot pricier. And when I lost my job and had to get a basic insurance plan that didn’t include prescriptions I was floored by the retail per-pill price of it. Something like $5 a day.
Now being fair, I understand to some degree: drug discovery and getting FDA approval is an expensive process. Without adequate profit motive, research will slow. And also, companies use Americans to pay for the research while other countries do the mafia thing and tell pharmaceutical companies “You want to sell here, you sell it at the price we tell you.” That’s how Canada has such low rates, for example. (I know, that’s simplistic, but deal.)
Still, to go from $600 a month to $35 a month? That’s a 94% decrease in price – and I can only assume that the pharmaceutical companies are still making a profit.
So I’m torn. The free market capitalist in me, acknowledging that they do need to profit and fuel more research and get investors by showing good returns, does recoil at this nonetheless.
Is there a perfect solution? Not on a flawed earth. But perhaps this needs to be looked at more closely for a better trade-off – citing Thomas Sowell:
Three parallel questions as you peruse here:
1. Can’t you just feel the wonderful benefits of being diverse and multi-cultural, and want more of them to come to the West?
2. Can’t you understand the noblesse oblige of governments in enabling and prioritizing this cultural enrichment even over their own native citizens?
3. How do we encourage and increase the signs of resistance we do see?
If Biden gets in the entire US government will be up for auction.
The narrative must be maintained. Related:
On a discussion on GraniteGrok, don’t recall the specific post, Socialism was direct ownership by government. Fascism was confirmed to be the fiction that private entities still had autonomy, but were controlled by laws, regulations, and placement of party functionaries at the levers of corporate power. IMHO the above, and the comping “private company” social credit scoring, rising to that very definition.
More on my growing technophobia:
And in general this should give you the screaming willies about the danger of connecting everything to the internet:
So cheers to Ted Cruz:
Perennial links to understand your own security.
Among many other plans and things they’ll do, remember the Great Replacement project… and how Trump may end it:
We can only hope! Remember, they’ve been playing a LONG GAME for at least a century:

RTWT. I knew – I KNEW – that Fox was dead the moment I heard they were bought by Disney. But what did I say in The Power of the Information Flow:
Rule 1: It doesn’t matter what’s true, it’s what you can get people to
Rule 2: If you control the information flow, you control what people believe.
Related to Soros – understand who he is by what he’s done:

Is this idea about the origin of the Wuhan virus too off the wall? (bolding added):
Instead, though, if China did indeed engineer a virus, it engineered a virus that takes down the old and sick. That’s not a great weapon. It’s a terrible bioweapon.
However, a disease that specifically targets old and sick people is a useful tool for a socialist country that has a surfeit of old and sick people burdening the medical and welfare systems. We already know that countries such as England routinely deny treatment to the very old or the very sick. They do this because they’re no longer contributing to the system. For that reason, they’re viewed as deadweight, and not worth saving.
Remember, in socialist societies, an individual’s worth is measured, not by being a unique person made in the image of God, but by that person’s utility to the state. If you’re no longer useful and, worse, if are an economic drain on society, you’ve got to go.
Very plausible IMHO. Let me add to the mix by proposing that the Left’s encouragement of people to go out to the Lunar Festival, etc., never mind their sending actively-infectious people to nursing homes, has another benefit: older people remember America and Western Civilization in a good light. Getting rid of the old people cuts off that memory. No sitting beside grandma or grandpa’s bed hearing about how things were before the Socialist state took control of everything.
Depending on which source you read, between 30-40 percent of the purported 200,000-odd deaths were due to the sending of patients to care facilities. Now, before you balk at the idea that Socialists wanting absolute power might balk at killing fellow Americans en masse, and think I’m all foil-hat Big Conspiracy and all, remember that Socialists in other countries actually murdered over 100 million of their own:
Don’t forget Larry Grathwohl’s warning (bolding added):
They also believed that their immediate responsibility would be to protect against what they called the counter revolution and they felt that this counter revolution could best be guarded against by creating and establishing reeducation centers in the Southwest where would take all the people who needed to be reeducated into the new way of thinking and teach them how things were going to be.
I asked, well, what is going to happen to those people that we can’t reeducate that are diehard capitalists and the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated. And when I pursued this further they estimated that they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers. And when I say eliminate I mean kill – 25 million people.
I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people most of which have graduate degrees from Columbia and other well known educational centers and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people and they were dead serious."
And when the inevitable mass shooting happens, it’ll be gun control 24/7. Foooor the chiiiiildren! Yes, they really do want your guns.
Don’t forget Kamala’s promise to use executive orders if she gets into the Big Chair; :
My three-part rewrite of my very important gun control essay – OK, self-plug, but there are a lot of good resources and citations in here:
The importance of #blexit writ clearly; This Issue Poll May Say More About the Presidential Election Than Any Other:
If the Democrats lose just a sliver of the urban black vote they’re toast. Their terrible handling of this issue may cost them more than just a sliver.
Also, #walkaway (which is why I include their videos in my Wednesday Whittle video compilations). And don’t forget #jexit #theexodusmovement #jexodus #lexit.
Vote fraud will be Trump’s #1 enemy this election.
Anyone remember that in both 2008 and 2012, credit card safety features were disabled by the Obama campaign, thus enabling foreign donations?
Ending on a light note…
I do not compromise with cancer. I do not find common ground with gangrene. The Left-Islam Axis must be fought ruthlessly with no quarter asked or expected – or America, Western Civilization, and Israel… indeed the whole world… will be destroyed.
